Quotes, Estimates and Bookings
Quotes and estimates are based on the information available at the time. A quote may change if the property conditions, system condition, access requirements, hidden faults, parts, materials or customer instructions differ from what was originally understood.
A booking is not confirmed until we have accepted it and agreed the appointment, scope of work or next step. We may refuse or reschedule work where it would be unsafe, unlawful, impractical or outside our service area.
Customer Responsibilities
To help us work safely and efficiently, customers should provide accurate information, ensure safe access to the property and relevant appliances, obtain permissions where required and tell us about known hazards, parking restrictions, access limitations or previous issues.
- Ensure an authorised adult is present where required.
- Provide clear access to boilers, controls, pipework, stopcocks, drains or equipment.
- Keep pets and vulnerable occupants safely away from the work area.
- Tell us about asbestos, electrical hazards, water leaks, gas smells or unsafe conditions before work begins.
- Confirm landlord, tenant or managing agent authority where relevant.
Payments
Payment terms will be stated on the quote, invoice or booking confirmation where applicable. Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due when work is completed or when an invoice is issued. We may ask for a deposit, staged payments or payment for ordered parts before work proceeds.
Late or unpaid invoices may result in further work being paused and reasonable recovery costs being added where permitted by law.
Cancellations and Consumer Rights
If you are a consumer and a contract is made at a distance or away from our business premises, you may have a 14-day cancellation right under UK consumer regulations. If you ask us to begin work during that period, you may be responsible for paying for work carried out before cancellation. If a service is fully completed with your express agreement before the cancellation period ends, cancellation rights may be affected.
Where you specifically request an urgent repair or maintenance visit, different cancellation rules may apply to the work required to deal with that urgent request. We will always aim to deal with cancellations fairly and in line with applicable consumer law.
Workmanship, Parts and Safety
Great Gas Ltd aims to carry out work with reasonable care and skill. Gas work will be handled by appropriately qualified Gas Safe registered engineers where required. We may stop work or make safe where we identify unsafe conditions, legal compliance issues or a risk to occupants, engineers or property.
Parts and materials remain subject to manufacturer availability, warranty terms and suitability for your property or system.
Liability
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or breach of statutory rights. Subject to those limits, Great Gas Ltd is not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate information supplied by the customer, pre-existing defects, inaccessible systems, third-party work, normal wear and tear, or events outside our reasonable control.
Complaints
If something has not gone as expected, please contact us promptly with your name, job details, property address and a clear explanation of the issue. We will review the matter and aim to respond fairly and professionally.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any consumer rights that apply.
